LibertyMix Update: Help Take Us Over the Top!

LibertyMixWe’ve now raised over $7,100 for LibertyMix. Thanks so much to all of you who have gotten us this far.

On the technical end of the project, we are busy working on completing a beta version to be tested by those of you who pre-ordered a lifetime upgraded account. We’ve put a lot of thought and program design ideas into the first version of what will be an evolving community for libertarians. In essence, the biggest news outlet and social-network for libertarians. Our goal is to launch this beta version to our early subscribers and selected friends on April 15th, a special date for us. While we are not offering any sneak peaks at this time and want to keep expectations within reason (hype is a terrible thing to badly abuse, as witnessed by the dot-com bust and recent web 2.0 hype), we definitely expect to blow down the doors of conventional online political activism and open a huge door for libertarian news dissemination.

We are getting close, but need a few more bucks to complete the project — as well as help take us over the top of our fundraising goal. Please consider a small donation today.

Update by Stephen VanDyke: I wanted to make it clear that everyone who pre-subscribes by purchasing a lifetime upgraded account is getting a sweet ass deal on this. Seriously, you don’t want to be the poor schmuck who’s slapping their forehead in 6 months because you’re paying a couple bucks per month for something you could have gotten for $25 by helping us out when we needed it most at startup.

  1. I think I already did. Well, not only sent you the $25, but found the secret web site and got a sense of what exactly you’re going to be doing with it.

It’s well worth the $25 to get in on this early, if you have even the slightest inklings toward increasing liberty anywhere in this country, and perhaps on this planet.

Once you see this, you’re going to want to be part of it, and it’s probably going to cost a lot more later. So go do it now.

Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with this project.

  3. Alright boys, you have my $25. Let’s see what you can do.

By the way, SV’s update sold me. Good job.

Hopefully, FTL will be able to be involved, because FTL + HoT = More Liberty!

  13. Guys, I know you all will do a kick ass job, and I know Liberty Mix will be a huge hit…but you gotta gives us some more info about the site if you want people’s $25. No hype, just facts about what makes the site so special and why you need our money.

As soon as I hear that it’s just not some fancy content management system, I’ll send my $25 right over. I’ve read the “new venture…” page, but would love to hear more. It’s not your fault that I have doubts, I’ve just seen other online libertarian projects not make it off the ground, it’s their fault. :-)

    Viva la Liberty Mix!!

  14. Phil: I’ll be sure to put up some teaser screenshots on the 15th (I’m betting they would leak out anyways, so why not). Of course, we may increase the entry cost of a lifetime subscription once we enter the beta period, so it’s your gamble. I’ll give you a trial-pass during the beta and let you slide in for $25 if you’re interested at that point.

One thing that may pose a problem for folks like you who are outside of the US is that there wouldn’t be a whole lot of localized libertarian news unless you could find other libertarians in your country/region to join.

  15. I just sent a second $25, which you guys should be glad to know puts you on equal footing with George Bush in at least one respect. Does that mean I’ll get Christmas Cards from the first Libertarian President….never mind, I won’t be holding my breath on that one for a number of reasons…

More seriously, with the second donation do I get a second life membership? Can I give it away? And to repeat an earlier offer I have some free blogads space on three blogs if you want to advertise this there.
